Gravura înfățișează un fragment din strada Colței, așa cum arăta el la a începutul secolului al XX-lea în fața Bisericii Sfântul Gheorghe Nou. Astfel, perspectiva se compune dintr-o fântână arteziană, care a fost așezată pe locul actualei statui a voievodului Constantin Brâncoveanu, realizată de Oscar Han, amplasată aici la finele deceniului al patrulea al secolului trecut. Fântâna pare că ocupa un loc central în spațiul respectiv, având o formă circulară cu un ornament central supraînălțat, decorat cu putti. În preajmă, trei felinare și câteva personaje pitorești completează imaginea. Pe fundal, se profilează, într-o alternanță de clădiri, de diferite înălțimi, strada Lipscani. Tramcare (tramvaiele vechi trase de cai) și mulțimi de oamenii animă compoziția din fundal, contrastând cu liniștea din jurul fântânii. Gravura face parte dintr-o serie de douăzeci de piese denumită „Bucureștii pitoresc” semnate de același autor care au fost publicate cu ocazia sărbătorilor prilejuite de Luna Bucureștiului, în anul 1938. Lucrarea este semnată sub cuvetă, în dreapta: „P. Poitevin-Skeletti”.

The engraving depicts a fragment of Colței Street as it appeared at the beginning of the 20th century in front of Sfântul Gheorghe Nou Church. Thus, the perspective includes a fountain, which was placed on the site of the current statue of Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, created by Oscar Han and installed here at the end of the 1930s. The fountain appears to occupy a central place in the area, having a circular shape with an elevated central ornament decorated with putti. Nearby, three street lamps and a few picturesque characters complete the image. In the background, a variety of buildings of different heights line Lipscani Street. Horse-drawn trams and crowds animate the background composition, contrasting with the tranquility around the fountain. The engraving is part of a series of twenty pieces called “Picturesque Bucharest,” signed by the same author and published on the occasion of the celebrations for Bucharest Month in 1938. The work is signed under the plate, on the right: “P. Poitevin-Skeletti”.
